If your dad is one of those DIY experts and loves working on things around the home, he is going to love getting any kind of power tools, especially power tools and cordless tools as a gift. Christmas is as good a time as any to give him a cool tool that he will appreciate.
It doesn’t even have to be your own father; some of these tools make great gifts and you can get one for a friend or a friend’s father. Here are some types of tools to give dad (or anyone else) on Christmas that he will surely appreciate.
1. Laser Tape Measure
This cool tape measure uses a laser to get measurements instantly. This type of tape measure does not require someone to hold one end down. Measurements are as simple as a push of a button. It’s fast too. Entire rooms can be measured in seconds. Laser tape measures are very affordable and is a handy tool to have.
2. Ratchet Set
These come in a handy, stylish case that’s made of hard plastic with little compartments for everything to go into. It’s organized very nicely and there are many ratchets and sockets, of which a DIY guy like dad can never have enough of! There is always one that is the right size to do any job, whether it is a DIY project or working on the car. The set also generally contain screwdriver bits and Allen wrenches.
3. Paint Sprayer
This is a wonderful addition to any DIY enthusiast’s collection. They deliver a smooth, even coat using a high-volume low-pressure sprayer. A paintbrush or roller just cannot compete, nor can they come close to the flawless effect of using a sprayer. Just try taking this off your dad!
4. Pressure Washer
This powerful gizmo saves a lot of time and does a really good job. It can be used to clean the boat, patio or deck. Using a hose and brush pales in comparison. Strangely, they also use less water than a hose and because it packs a lot of power, there’s no need for elbow grease. These units also tend to come with a hose. Kids could have fun with something like this, until dad finds out. Then, the fun suddenly stops!
5. Portable Generator
Some of these lightweight generators are gas-powered and unbelievably quiet when compared to those from years ago. In fact, you may not even realize it’s running. These generators can be used for camping, watching a game on TV when the power suddenly goes out or even for a tailgate party. Some of these have an eco-mode, so it powers down and saves fuel.
6. Noise-Cancelling Headphones
Dad’s going to look cool wearing these as he drowns out the noise of a lawn mower or chain saw. He can be listening to The Beatles as he enjoys working on his projects. It helps protect the ears from these loud noises and since they are cushioned, they are comfortable and can be worn for a long time too.
