You may have noticed over the past months my posting has been more sporadic and less frequent than the previous few years (I still cannot believe I’ve been writing this blog since 2009!..my, my, how things have changed! )!
Since I started this blog, I’ve changed jobs, moved twice and had many other life changes. What I love about this space is that it’s been able to grow and change with me.
As my schedule has recently changed, I haven’t nearly has much time to devote to this blog and have had to ask myself if it’s worth it to continue blogging (it’s also made me wonder how in the world I ever found the time to blog everyday!).
After considering leaving this space, and asking myself “why I blog,” I quickly realized the reasons that I blog are far too compelling for me to stop. Primarily, I realized I blog for selfish reasons…
I blog because this has evolved into my own personal family cookbook. It contains hundreds of recipes that are tested and adjusted to our personal preferences, and is one of the first places I look when I’m in need of meal ideas.
I blog because I love to try new recipes and know that I’ll forget about them if I don’t put it here. Sure, I can pin the recipe inspiration source, but often I change things so much that it’s usually not even recognizable to the original source. Also, I love to create my own recipes and know I would forget them if I didn’t post it here.
I blog as an outlet to share things that have been on my mind.
I blog to pursue passions of photography and cooking.
I blog to remember delicious meals and conversations that my husband and I have shared at our kitchen table.
And I blog because I love hearing from you, my readers and “blogging community.” I cannot tell you how much it thrills me to know that someone has tried and enjoyed one of my recipes! THANK YOU for continuing to visit this space!
Since I’ve been posting less frequently, I’ve been taking less pictures of our meals. However, there have already been several times that we try a new recipe and both love it, and my first thought is “I didn’t take any pictures!…that means I’ll completely forget about this meal!” Which has showed me how much I love (and need!) this space!
So, with that said, even with crazy schedules, I will continue to blog. I will only be blogging about our absolute favorite recipes (so you know they’ll be good!), and will continue to share recipes, photos and memories as I am able.
That said, this was one of those recipes that I definitely don’t want to forget! Who can resist cheesy, warm homemade breadsticks fresh out of the oven?! Definitely not me!
Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks
I’m actually not going to post a recipe as I followed the original recipe from Lauren’s Latest nearly exactly; I just added a sprinkling of rosemary and red pepper flakes!
Angie’s Popcorn is one of those companies I’ve loved learning about! They offer a variety of popcorn and kettle corn, that are all free of trans fats, high-fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavors or preservatives.
I was sent the following flavors to review: Lightly Sweet Popcorn, White Cheddar Popcorn, Caramel & Cheddar Popcorn Mix, Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn, and Sea Salt Popcorn.
My favorites were the Lightly Sweet Popcorn and Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn. Each flavor tasted incredibly fresh and was the perfect light snack to have in the afternoon or after dinner! I would definitely recommend these if you’re looking for new snack ideas!
