I know, I know. It’s the start of a New Year and one of your resolutions is to “eat healthier.”
I 100% support you. I hope everyone feels their absolute best in 2014 and takes the best care of themselves they possibly can.
However, I find personally, I feel my best when I’m savoring all things in moderation. When I take a moment to realize how fortunate I am to be eating a salad filled with healthy produce, when I truly thank the hosts for going out of their way to prepare the feast before us, and when I slowly nibble on the decadent dessert before me.
This chocolate bread falls in the latter category. I’ve had it in my mind to make since my husband surprised me with the cookbook, Jerusalem. While I think it is meant for the dessert category, we definitely enjoyed this as a decadent brunch one morning.
And when eaten slowly with your favorite company and balanced out with your daily servings of fruits and veggies, I would definitely say this is part of a healthy lifestyle. 😉
Again, this recipe was adapted from Jerusalem; I also used this post from The Patterned Plate. I made one loaf of bread and then sliced the other half into 12 pieces and baked them together in a 9×11″ baking dish to make rolls.
