{Living Simply 2013}
Last week I asked what you have done, are doing and/or hope to do to live more simply in 2013. I will be featuring a different response in the upcoming weeks/months so we can all learn from each other. Feel free to email me at simplylife1@gmail.com or leave a comment on this post with your response to be featured (you don’t need a blog to participate)!

Oooh I love this comment! My husband and I eat dinner together nearly every night. During this time, there’s no T.V., computers or phones. And you know what? It’s always my favorite part of the day. While I love having my computer handy to read blogs, check email and find my next recipe, I also appreciate those moments when everything is turned off.
I also love the idea in this response to play games and puzzles! I grew-up playing games with my family and it’s still one of my favorite things to do with others! We’re big fans of Scrabble, Sequence and card games but are always looking for new games to plan! I’d love to hear other games that readers would recommend! :)

Oh, and speaking of simple pleasures: I think we can all agree that a bagel with cream cheese is one of the simplest, yet most desirable breakfast foods. There’s something so comforting about the combination of warm, toasted bread with creamy cheese. Well, I’ve made a different version that requires even less work- there’s no slicing, spreading or silverware needed: Bagel Bombs. A warm, doughy bread filled with soft cream cheese. Yeah, this is definitely one of life’s simple pleasures.
I adapted this recipe from Hummingbird on High. The biggest changes I made was the filling: for my filling I only used cream cheese and chopped chives. In addition, I used half all-purpose flour and half whole wheat pastry flour, and reduced the salt but about half.
These were so much fun to eat and definitely allowed us to enjoy what simple ingredients like flour, yeast, salt and cheese can do!

Speaking of simple things, I was recently contacted to try a Hoo-rag, and what impressed me most was how one simple piece of fabric could have so many different uses! Hoo-rag sells a variety of patterns for uses such as biking, snowsports and even chef bandanas.

I was sent the Winter Willow to review. This is stretchy, soft and very comfortable. I can definitely see it being helpful to wear as a headband to hold back my hair when running or working out!
