Our Costa Rican Adventures!

So what else did we do in Costa Rica besides celebrate our 5th Anniversary and hang out at our amazing resort?

We explored the nearby beach towns!…

Watched surfers do their thang…

Went zip lining through the jungle (these are our fearless leaders)…

Saw crocodiles!…

…that were hanging out surprisingly close to cows (can you spot them?)!…

 Took a cab into the local town where we ate homemade tortillas (SOOOOO good) and eggs for breakfast…

…then took a boat ride through the river and ocean, until we arrived at this beautiful beach!…

Where we hiked through the lush jungle at Corcovado National Park and saw monkeys!…


…all sorts of crazy plants and animals!…

…and continued to hike, even through the rain (which we barely felt because of how dense the jungle was) until we reached this beautiful waterfall!…

 We ate fish tacos and fish Casado (I am officially obsessed)….

…while sitting in our bathing suits, towels, and watching the Olympics…

Yeah, it was a good vacation.

Then we headed back to the airport.  And while I missed my fried plantains, I was pretty happy to see an oatmeal toppings bar for breakfast at Cosi.  :)

      haha, we actually didn’t book it until 2 weeks ahead of time- we weren’t sure where we wanted to go, but it ended up being one of the most affordable options AND had so much to do and see! I’m SO glad this is where we decided to go!!

      It was scary at first but once you got used to it, it was SO fun (there were 8 different zip lines we went on throughout the trip). There was even a 6 year old in our group who went alone, so I figured if he could do it, I should be able to too! :)

      It was SOOOOOO fun!!! I highly recommend it! We hiked quite a bit and then had 8 different zip lines throughout the jungle (in between hiking to different areas)! It was a great experience!

    Those homemade tortillas – mmmmmmm!!!! What amazing food you ate on this vacation! I prefer adventurous vacations. I can only “relax” for a very short time. I get bored extremely easily, and then it is not at all relaxing for me to lounge around – it is stressful.

    That truly looks like paradise!

    I rarely relax on vacation and I need to. I just get excited being somewhere new and I want to explore and do EVERYTHING. I need to learn how to relax and enjoy it.

      Yes! I agree! Depending on where you go, it’s hard to justify traveling to a new place to sit on a beach! We try to incoroprate a good mix of relaxing and adventures and that’s always my favorite combo!

    I like a good mix of adventure/relaxation on vacation.. a nice balance. I love all of the food photos!

    Also, the first picture in this post is stunning. It belongs in a travel magazine. Or any magazine for that matter! I officially want to go to Costa Rica.
