My Night on the Water with Boston Food Bloggers!

by simplylife on July 21, 2012

Look!  I was a contributor to Eat Boutique!  You should definitely check out the post because they’re even having a giveaway!

One of my favorite aspects of living in Boston is the foodie scene.  I’ve been able to attend conferences, have a behind-the-scenes view of a catering company and enjoy some of my most memorable meals.  Most recently, I had the opportunity to attend an event with Boston Food Bloggers!

This event took place at Odyssey Cruises at Rowes Wharf in Boston.

I absolutely love being in this location downtown.  From where we boarded, there was a clear view of the Moakley Courthouse…

As we each found our seat, we were promptly served champagne and warm dinner rolls.  We were also provided with a menu and had the option of choosing from 4 entrees.

After to getting to know other bloggers and their significant others, it was decision-time.  For my entree, I chose the Orange-Ginger Glazed Salmon.  My favorite part of this dish was the “Green Tea infused Cous Cous.”

During dinner, there was a band playing live music.  It was fun to overhear other couples and groups who were also on the boat celebrating anniversaries and special occasions!

When our stomachs were full, we decided to enjoy a short walk to the top deck where there were absolutely beautiful views surrounding us.

During this time, I decided to try a new-to-me drink: a Raspberry Lime Martini, which was a fun combination or tart and sweet!

It was so much fun to get to know other people who take pictures of their food bloggers in the area and swap travel, foodie and New England stories!

Once we found a little room in our stomach, we headed back to our table where we were served dessert.  I chose the Chocolate Torte which was a rich and decadent dessert, filled with layers of delicious chocolate!  This was definitely the highlight of my meal!

The cruise was four hours so we had plenty of time to eat slowly, enjoy our company and step outside to enjoy the views!  It was fun to be on the cruise during sunset and to see the way the city lights up in the evening!

Thank you to Boston Food Bloggers and Odyssey Cruises for such a fun night on the water!

This evening was provided free.  All opinions are 100% my own.

~Have you ever been on a dinner cruise?

The views, the food and the opportunity to enjoy such an elaborate evening all are amazing! Give me a piece of that cake…yum!!

As you know, I was given a gift to enjoy a dinner cruise for our 25th wedding anniversary and still hold on to the wonderful memories :) I too remember the desert and without being a food blogger, actually took a picture of the food along with the menu that night!!!
