Have you done a “spring cleaning” this year?
Do you get the urge to spend an entire day deep-cleaning every corner and hidden nook in your home? Do you want to rearrange the furniture, sweep under the couch and get rid of all the old half-started craft projects that you were sure you would get to during the winter.
Yeah, I get that urge too.
Except I don’t know how to take it from urge to action. I want all the clutter to be neatly organized and simplified. I would love to see what the living room looks like if we rearranged the furniture.
Yet, when it comes to “cleaning day,” all I want to do is make sure the crumbs are swept-up and the tub is scrubbed as quickly as possible so I can use my precious free time to be outdoors, reading a book…doing something I enjoy.
So I try to find little things to motivate me. While the pile of unfinished crafts may still be sitting in a growing pile on my desk, using this Pistachio and Parmesan Naan Flatbread as my motivation to know that in the 10 minutes it took to put this together I could at least go through that old pile of mail helped to complete one task. Gotta start somewhere, right?
Pistachio and Parmesan Naan Flatbread

Keywords: bake appetizer entree pizza/flatbread side vegetarian nuts
Ingredients
- 3 pieces of whole wheat naan
- 1 tbs. oilve oil
- Salt and pepper
- 1/3 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated or in shards
- 1 tbs. fresh sage, roughly chopped
- 1/4 cup salted pistachios, roughly chopped
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place naan on baking sheet. Lightly drizzle or brush olive oil over each piece. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
2. Top each with parmesan cheese, sage, and pistachios. Bake for about 8 minutes, until warmed through and naan is lightly browned. Serve and enjoy!
Whether I end up cleaning for one hour or an entire afternoon, I do always look for quick and easy snacks to keep me going (and that won’t add to the mess). I was sent these three different flavors compliments of Chunks of Energy: Raw Cacao with Goji, High Country G.O.R.P., and Chocolate Almond Chip. They offer raw, vegn, gluten-free and dairy-free products. In addition to the flavors they sent me, they have tons more flavors to choose from!
I really enjoyed all three flavors and appreciated that even the “chocolate” flavors weren’t overly sweet! Their list of ingredients is incredibly impressive. For example, the ingredients in the Raw Cacoa with Goji include dates, sunflower seeds, raisins, apricots, cacao powder, coconut, and goji powder (all organic and raw). These would be great to take with on a log hike as they are packed with “real” ingredients and easy to eat on-the-go!
