This weekend my husband and I will be running a half-marathon! That means starting today we really need to pay extra attention to what we put in our bodies- lots of water, protein and healthy foods! I’ve now run several long-distance races and for each one, I’ve had the same pre-race meal: bread with peanut butter and sliced banana. It always fills me up and doesn’t make me feel too weighed-down when running.
Of course, the type of bread and peanut butter used to make this sandwich is key. One of my favorite bread’s I’ve been able to try has been Rudi’s. Recently they sent me these two loaves: Rocky Mountain Sourdough and Nut & Oat. As always, their breads are made with organic ingredients, contain no artificial ingredients, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup or trans-fat. And the most important part: they taste fresh and are delicious!
In addition to a pre-workout fuel, I’ve been enjoying their breads with breakfast and for a simple pb&j lunch…
