Rudi’s Bread GIVEAWAY!!

This weekend my husband and I will be running a half-marathon!  That means starting today we really need to pay extra attention to what we put in our bodies- lots of water, protein and healthy foods!  I’ve now run several long-distance races and for each one, I’ve had the same pre-race meal:  bread with peanut butter and sliced banana. It always fills me up and doesn’t make me feel too weighed-down when running.

Of course, the type of bread and peanut butter used to make this sandwich is key.  One of my favorite bread’s I’ve been able to try has been Rudi’s.  Recently they sent me these two loaves: Rocky Mountain Sourdough and Nut & Oat.   As always, their breads are made with organic ingredients, contain no artificial ingredients, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup or trans-fat.  And the most important part: they taste fresh and are delicious!

In addition to a pre-workout fuel, I’ve been enjoying their breads with breakfast and for a simple pb&j lunch…

    First, congrats on training your body for another marathon! I too have learned how certain foods can fuel my body for hours and some others can make me feel like I’ve just eaten a brick! It seems the lighter (in color) the food is, the heavier effect it has!!! I haven’t tried this brand, but look forward to picking it up and trying it out!!!

    I would use Rudi’s to make Pain Perdu! Of course, I would make it healthier by using only egg whites, and splenda instead of sugar.

    Perfect pre-race fuel. I usually save bananas until after the race but bread with peanut butter is my favorite running food. What half-marathon are you running? I’m supposed to be running the Philly half next weekend! Best of luck!

    This bread looks tasty….how I might use it? Well where I live we don’t get organic fresh breads so I would use it for oven roasted meals and maybe even my cold Thanksgiving Turkey Sandwich. I’m already of fan of ours already 🙂

    Oh I LOVE rudy’s bread! I can’t usually afford it though, sadly. I love the cinnamon raisin bagels best! I like them with a bit of almond butter melted on top.
