Paris: The Sights

by simplylife on November 28, 2011

Now that we’ve gotten beyond the food, I can tell you about the other parts of our time in Paris!  During our 4 days there, we spent the vast majority of each day simply walking through its many narrow streets, wandering down cobblestone roads when we saw something that caught our eye and marveling over how the quaint terraces and white brick buildings never get old.

We also make sure to visit some of the landmarks as well!  On our first day there, we literally spotted the Eiffel Tower from miles away and spent the afternoon slowly making our way towards it, using the peak as our compass.  We finally approached it during sunset and were able to see it lighting up the city!…

The better part of the following afternoon was spent getting lost among the many paintings, sculptures and displays at the Louvre, including the Mona Lisa!…

Here is the view from inside the museum, looking out at the city…

On our final day there, between espresso and French Onion Soup, we strolled along to find Moulin Rouge!

And finally, among other places, we made sure to sit amongst the majestic and inspiring pews in Notre Dame.

Thanks for traveling through Paris with me!  Next: it’s all amount London!

I thought it was illegal to take pictures inside the Louvre! Haha, guess not … or you are trouble … one of the two ;-) What an amazing trip! The hubby and I want to go to Paris for our 10 year wedding anniversary. It looks like such an amazing city. The place that has inspired me the most is New York City.

Amazingly gorgeous- I love all the pictures and you just can’t beat Paris. Stunning!

I was most inspired by a glacier I visited in New Zealand. It was breathtaking.

Did you get to see the Eiffel Tower as they lit it up? That’s a pretty neat sight to take in.

I can’t believe it’s already been four and a half years since I’ve been in Paris. I’ve done plenty of amazing things since, but there’s something about France that really can’t be beat.

Most inspiring… I’d have to say anywhere with a nice view of the ocean, or of one of the Great Lakes. Sagrada Familia in Barcelona was pretty inspiring as well, what an amazing construction job.
